Countdown - D minus 4

Another rehearsal today, still with broken sound card. Hoping it will arrive tomorrow!
We have added blacklights to the backdrop to make the awesome details really pop out.

The set lists are finished today. So we are testing them out tonight.

Countdown - D minus 5

At rehearsal yesterday, Bjørn worked so hard behind the drums that a pool of sweat shorted the sound card in the "live rack". Good thing it happened before the tour, and not on one of the concerts.

So now we have to buy a new one, and make sure that Bjørn doesn't moisturize more of our gear.

He's looking very good in his white shorts!

Marius was struggeling as usual plugging his in-ear into the receiver on the back of his guitar strap.

It's very nice to have it tucked away while playing, but it is a bit inaccessable when you need to get to it.

Today it is time to plan the different sets for the tour, make sure all the tracks on the computer is in correct order, that click-tracks are sounding at the right places and that back drop light tracks are synchronized with the music.

Countdown - D minus 6

We are still not sure if the merchendise will be delivered. Yesterday evening we got another message about failed delivery. We really hope that it will be sorted out soon!

Yesterday's rehearsal was good. Everything sounds better, techniques are improving and the band sounds tighter.

Isak arrived very early to test his brand new in-ears. And after three hours of plugging, unplugging, bending, reading, configuring, testing and tuning, he finally got the sound he wanted.

Marius is working nights, as usual. This night he has been working on some lyrics videos that we hope to release before the tour.

Another rehearsal tonight.

No rest during the weekend!

Countdown - D minus 7

One week left till we leave Norway! It's starting to get close, and we are anxious to get everything ready for the tour.

Yesterday was a very good rehearsal. The new songs are starting to sound awesome!

On the other hand we received som troubling news yesterday night. UPS had failed to deliver our merchendise to the destination address in Copenhagen due to some inconsistency in the address we had received. Luckily Print Palace in Germany who sent the goods promised this morning to help us correct the issue. So fingers crossed, and we will have the merch ready from day 1 of the tour.

Bjørn has tested and enjoyed his new cymbals this week, and has ordered new drum skins.

Tonight is yet another rehearsal, and Isak is very keen on testing out his new in-ear monitoring system.

Countdown - D minus 8

Greetings!

This blog will cover Sphere's European tour together with Leprous and Rendezvous Point, and the last days of preparation. We hope that you will find it amusing to follow us here on the tour from day to day! We've heard rumours that it is wi-fi on the bus.

We will try to share all the fun and interesting stuff that happens along the tour, and document it with photos.

Now it is 8 days left till departure, and we have been working hard the last couple of weeks. A lot of gear to be ordered, put togheter and tested. And of course: Practise, practise, practise!

Several of our racks have been replaced by more hardy cases from Rufo. The last one arrived monday, and Marius stayed up all night to transfer and fit all the gear.

This rack will control lights to our backdrop, click-track, backing tracks, in-ear monitoring for the drummer (Bjørn) and the vocals (Isak), and sending some of the sounds (kick, snare, click and backingtracks) to the in-ear monitoring units for the rest of the band.

The D-panel in the back makes this rack a really nice plug-and-play unit.

Tonight it is yet another rehearsal.
